We were founded in April 2010 by Dr. Pulak Sahay wanting to raise awareness of Reflux Disease and committed to help spread information about the disease. The charity aims to help people detect the symptoms early and make better lifestyle choices to prevent the condition in the first place.
A Gastroenterologist Dr. Pulak Sahay, whose sub speciality interest is Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD), has brought together a group of patients and organises regular meetings and lectures given to GPs, to spread the word about GORD and its management by lay persons so that they can ask for help at the right time. He is an avid painter and poet and has held exhibitions of his paintings & poetry and sold these to raise awareness and monies for charity.
Dr. Geeta Sahay a GP in the NHS has been one of the founder members of the CARD Charity. She has been instrumental in promoting the charity from its inception by organising various activities including annual dinners, auctions & sponsored walks.
Mrs. Minoo Singh being a banker juggled work & home which gave her a fair share of stress leading to heartburn. Even though her husband was a GP she never gave it much thought & depended on antacids. Only after she got associated with Dr. Pulak Sahay & the CARD Charity that it struck a chord with her & she realised how naive she had been to not see the dangers of constant heartburn. And so she became a convert to CARD & as its ambassador has become instrumental in spreading awareness among the masses through CARD.
Mrs. Medhya Sahay is the Director of a business consultancy company called BPR Consultancy Ltd. She is a chartered accountant who previously worked as a Senior Management Consultant for KPMG in London. She has been responsible for the accounts of the CARD charity & its treasurer since the start.
Mr Puneet Johar has been associated with the CARD Charity for a long time. He has been instrumental in managing the IT aspects of CARD charity website and its facebook page.

In 2023, I joined our CARD Charity organization and contributed, by developing a dedicated wildlife and landscape photography website. This platform allows donors to receive a photograph of their choice, as a token of appreciation for their donations, aligning with our mission to educate the general public about the banes and management of Reflux Disease. This year, I took on the project of recreating the CARD Charity website, transitioning from its previous setup. Moving forward, I will be managing the website's content alongside two experienced team members who were the original administrators.
